颂古是诠释语录、公案的禅林文体之一,“颂”最早出自《周礼·春官宗伯》“教六诗,曰风、曰赋、曰比、曰兴、曰雅、曰颂”。(《周礼注疏》1980:796)《诗大序》曰“颂者,美盛德之形容,以其成功告于神明者也”。(《毛诗正义》1999:18)由“六义”之“颂”派生出禅林颂古,以下对颂古作一分析。一、“颂”与“颂古”“颂”的解释,《说文解字》“颂、皃也,从页、公声。”注有“古作颂皃,今作容皃,古今字之
