元数据是人们查找和发现科学数据的重要工具。本文以实证研究的方式对科学数据元数据在用户判断科学数据的相关性时所发挥的认知作用进行评价。通过眼动仪观察并记录10名被试对象在国家农业科学数据中心检索数据的过程,并对所有被试开展实验后访谈,发现其判断科学数据的思考过程,在此基础上评价了元数据在被试判断科学数据相关性时所发挥的作用。研究结果表明,元数据各项内容的受关注程度存在很大的差异,数据查询者在判断科学数据时遵循一定的用户相关性标准,且这些标准与元数据项之间存在某种对应关系。
Metadata is an important tool for people to find and discover scientific data. This paper evaluates the cognitive function of scientific data metadata in determining the relevance of scientific data by empirical research. Through the eye tracker, the process of retrieving data of 10 subjects in the National Agricultural Science Data Center was observed and recorded. After all the subjects were interviewed and found their thinking process of judging scientific data, we evaluated the metadata The role played by subjects in determining the relevance of scientific data. The results show that there is a great difference in the level of attention paid to the content of metadata. Data query users follow certain user-related criteria in judging scientific data, and there is some correspondence between these standards and metadata items.
