GEMorrison (1862-1920) was a reporter for the London Times Times in Beijing and a political advisor to the Peking government in the Republic of China. During the more than 20 years of social unrest in late Qing Dynasty and early Republic China, he has been active in China The political center of Beijing, known as “Morrison in Beijing” or “Morrison in China.” Wangfujing Street, where he lives, is known among foreigners coming to China as “Morrison Street.” He realized the value of his experience of doing activities in China with respect to the history of Far East officials, especially Chinese history, thus consciously retaining the written materials of his diaries, memoirs, communications and memoranda, as well as the physical materials such as pictures, business cards and tickets. These precious materials were donated to the Michel Library in Sydney, Australia, and became Morrison’s documents in line with the Morrison Library of the predecessor of Japan’s Toyoji Library. These documents become an important document for the study of East Asian history and modern Chinese history. Since the 1960s, nearly 50 years have passed since the Morrison paper studied the history of East Asia and the modern history of China. In the meantime, many achievements have been made in this regard. For the relations between China and Japan and the United Kingdom, as well as China The development of domestic politics has made a meaningful exploration. However, the Morrison document is a well-deserved historical mineral deposit. There are still many fields waiting for scholars to open up.
