还是在20世纪50年代初,笔者曾见到《天津日报》发表的一篇《马铃薯万岁》的小品文,该文描写一位农业技术人员到农村去推广栽种土豆的新技术。该技术人员的讲话都是介绍马铃薯的优越,但就没注解一下马铃薯就是土豆。听讲的农民更不知道土豆就是马铃薯,以为是从苏联老大哥那里引进的什么先进东西。当这位技术人员正讲得津津有味时,突然在听众中一人高呼了一声“马铃薯万岁”的口号,接着众人一块儿喊,闹出了轰动一时的笑话。产生这个笑话,小品文的作者本意是讽刺当时的知识
Still in the early 1950s, I had seen an essay “Long Live Potato,” published by the Tianjin Daily, describing an agricultural technician who went to rural areas to promote new technologies for growing potatoes. The technician’s speech is to introduce the superiority of potatoes, but did not annotate the potato is potatoes. The peasants who listened to did not even know that potatoes were potatoes and thought they were advanced items imported from the big brother of the Soviet Union. When the technician was talking relish, one of the audience suddenly shouted the slogan “Long live the potato,” and then the crowd shouted and made a sensational jokes.
