Stravinsky, Igor Feodorovich (1882-1971) is one of the famous composers of this century and an important representative of neoclassicalism. The six lectures on music in poetry published here are academic lectures delivered by Charles Eliot Newton Poetics at Harvard University from 1939 to 1940 in the fields of music creation, musical morphology, musical criticism , Music performances and many other aspects. The discussion of these issues is not only a reflection of Stravinsky’s practice of individual creation but also an elucidation of his aesthetic concept as a neoclassical. Thus, “Music Poetics Six Lectures” is a valuable reference for our study of Stravinsky’s creative practice and musical aesthetics thought. Due to space limitations, only selected its core part of the theory published one after another.
