In a recent report, the UN Global Food Group’s Global Research Team pointed out that the average annual per capita annual consumption of human beings in the world will increase from 16kg in 1997 to 19-20kg in 2030. By then, the global output of aquatic products will increase to 150-160 million tons, while the annual output of marine fisheries will not exceed 100 million tons. Finally, the report pointed out that the increase of aquatic products is bound to drive the prosperity of aquaculture. FAO’s “Agriculture: Towards 2015/30” report predicts the trend of global food, nutrition and agricultural development in the next 30 years. Globally, fish provide about 16% of human animal protein sources. In the next 30 years, global fisheries will continue to move from capture fisheries to aquaculture in the manner of fisheries development in the 1990s,
