This is a National Major Project,undertaken by China Mobile Communications Company Research Institute.Network coverage planning is essential in the process of network construction,and link budget is the most commonly used tool.Comparing with TD-SCDMA,this paper analyzed TD-LTE coverage characteristics based on the characteristics of TD-LTE system.TD-LTE link budget procedure was presented in the paper and the important parameters values were proposed based on theory analysis and filed test results,based on which the maximum allowable path loss of both downlink and uplink control channels and traffic channels in various scenarios were calculated by link budget,and then cell radius was delivered according to propagation model;consequently,the number of base stations can be estimatedfor a certain coverage area.
