The Russian Constitutional Democratic Party is one of the major political parties of Russia’s free bourgeoisie. It was formed on the basis of the development of the Russian liberal opposition movement. In the 1840s, too, there emerged some ideas of liberal reform among some aristocrats involved in capitalist relations and the gradual formation of liberal opposition. They attempted to abolish the serf system by means of improved compromise with the tsarist system.
