率先基本实现现代化,是党中央赋予广东的历史重任。经济特区和珠江三角洲作为广东改革开放的排头兵,应该为广东基本实现现代化带好头。省委关于在经济特区和珠江三角洲全面启动率先基本实现现代化工作的决策是正确的。我认为,经济特区和珠江三角洲不仅要国民经济全面发展、社会事业全面进步,率先基本实现现代化,而且也要率先成为社会主义法治地区。
Taking the lead in basically realizing modernization is the historical responsibility entrusted by the party Central Committee to Guangdong. As the vanguard of Guangdong’s reform and opening up, the special economic zones and the Pearl River Delta should bring a good headway for the basic realization of modernization in Guangdong. The provincial party committee’s decision on launching the modernization that takes the lead in basically realizing modernization in the special economic zones and the Pearl River Delta is correct. In my opinion, the special economic zones and the Pearl River Delta not only need the all-round development of the national economy but also all-round social progress, taking the lead in basically realizing modernization and taking the lead in becoming a socialist law-based area.
