The National Democratic Workers’ Congress of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has been held in Pyongyang for a total of three days. The conference discussed the issue of further developing science in North Korea. More than 180 representatives of North Korean scientific bodies, scientific groups and colleges and universities attended the conference. Participating in the work of the General Assembly are General Kim Jong Il, Kim Jong-bong, Park Yong-young, Hong Ming-hei, Kim Myh, the party secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and foreign scientific community representatives. The General Assembly heard and discussed the report of Bai Nanyun, an education expert in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, on the results of North Korea’s scientific work last year and the task of scientists in 1952. Bai Nanyun pointed out that North Korean scientists made a great contribution to the cause of the Korean people’s struggle against the U.S. aggressors in 1951, and they joined the entire people in consolidating the work behind them and supporting the frontline movement. North Korea’s science has never achieved such great development in recent years after the Soviet liberation of North Korea.
