周恩来的一生与日本有不解之缘:弱冠之年,东渡扶桑寻求真理;不惑之年,救亡图存坚持抗战;古稀之年,呕心沥血重建中日邦交。尤其是中华人民共和国成立之后,面对复杂的国际形势,周恩来坚持发展对日关系,力争两国关系正常化。70年代初的中日联合声明对近80年中日之间的关系史作了了结,为此后两国发展睦邻关系铺下了第一块和平基石,实现了周恩来一生的心愿。
Zhou Enlai’s life has indissoluble bond with Japan: In the year of weak crown, Dongdu hibiscus seeks truth; At the age of perplexity, the image of national salvation persists in the war of resistance; In the seventies, he worked hard to rebuild the diplomatic relations between China and Japan. Especially after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, in the face of the complicated international situation, Zhou Enlai insisted on developing relations with Japan and strived for the normalization of relations between the two countries. The Sino-Japanese joint statement of the early 1970s ended the history of relations between China and Japan in the past 80 years and laid the first cornerstone of peace for the development of good-neighborly relations between the two countries since then, fulfilling Zhou Enlai’s wish for a lifetime.
