随着党的十一届三中全会精神的贯彻,我省棉花生产认真落实政策,进一步调动了棉农生产的积极性,今年全省棉花种植面积达158万亩,比去年实收面积增加15.4万亩,预计棉花总产可达90万担,比去年总产增加5％左右。最近,我们在彭泽、都昌、九江、湖口、瑞昌等产棉区进行了棉花生产调查,棉花普遍长势良好,结铃多,秋桃单株在12～15个,每亩增加棉株500株左右,密度加大,施肥水平有所提高,为增产提供了良好的条件。如彭泽县乐观、东升公社今年植棉任务分别为7,000亩和6,100亩,实际分别种植了10,000亩和9,000亩,目前长势喜人,丰收在望。九江县永安公社幸福大队1979年棉花平均亩产皮棉110斤,今年预计棉花平均亩产皮棉可达130斤。
