桐乡县屠甸公社先锋生产队地处浙北杭嘉湖平原。1978年共种杂交水稻121.4亩,占全队晚稻总面积的50.5%,平均亩产1,153.3斤。其中成片种植的连作杂交晚稻101.4亩,平均亩产1,145.4斤;7.86亩高产田,亩产达到1,285斤。单是杂交晚稻的总产量就比上年全队晚稻总产量还超出9,000多斤。由于杂交水稻大面积平衡高产,全队晚稻平均亩产从上年的543.2斤提高到922.6斤。现将该队1978年连作杂交晚稻取得百亩成片平衡高产的主要技术经验介绍于后。一、选用优良杂交组合,确定适当的播种日期在杂交组合的选用上,该队以丰产性好,适应性广、抗逆力强的汕优6号当家,种植面积占99.5%,田间纯度达98.29%。据观察,汕优6号对干旱、低温和褐稻虱的抗性都比较好,表现穗数较多、成穗率较高、空
