This article describes the improvement of the jet air hydrocyclone (ASH). This improvement increases the collision and reaction of wastewater contaminants with the bubbling gas. The design of this new ASH based reaction chamber and flotation cell is used to optimize the separation of foam and particles from water. With this combination, these systems achieve very good results when removing contaminants from industrial and process waters. Infrastructure investment and operating costs are lower because only a small amount of space is required. A few examples of chemical and non-chemical water treatments are cited and confirmed the outstanding flexibility and applicability of these systems. It discusses how this design addresses the operational issues of traditional ASH.
