In the past, the teaching reference books of the Department of Architecture elaborated on the functions and design methods of various building types, and focused on the analysis of special contradictions in the design process of various architectural types. We are relatively lacking in teaching reference books that are relatively new and combined with modern methodology to analyze and study the basic principles of architectural design. The book “A Pattern Lan-guage” written by Prof. Christopher Alexander et al. belongs to the latter. Professor Alexander has been interested in the study of new theories since the 1960s. He published a series of books in the mid-1970s.
