如今,第二代和第三代的华商们在中国的角色正逐渐从“客串”变为“主角”。他们不止步于追求企业经营的成功,更关注对祖国履行社会责任第三次爱国高潮改革开放以后,广大华侨和侨商掀起了第三次爱国高潮。在写给第十二届世界华商大会的贺信中,中共中央总书记、国家主席习近平指出,中国改革开放事业取得伟大成就,广大华侨华人功不可没。30多年来,华侨华人发挥在资金、技术、管理、商业网络等方面的优势,在中国各地投资兴业,用自己的智慧和汗水,有力促进了中国经济社会发展,有力推动了中国同世界的交流合作。
