As service providers roll out IPTV and “triple play” to their MTU-based and MDU-based customers, it becomes crucial to start with multiple users at the same time to provide the ability to continuously and adjust bandwidth over time. BroadLight has introduced the BL2340 GPON ONT solution for high-performance multi-tenancy unit (MDU) and multi-tenant unit (MTU) applications. The BL2340 is sampling and is the first chip to deliver the necessary sustained packet performance over a single ONT to support multi-IPTV and HDTV streaming and multi-user high-speed Internet access.
