如何为迅猛发展的农业经济培育出合格人才?地处扬州市西北郊的邗江县农业职业技术学校的师生,经过艰苦的探索和多年的实践,终于闯出了一条坚持为农办学、实行科技统筹发展的办学新路。邗江农职技校的前身,是杨寿乡林木园艺职业中学,最初开设的专业为花木繁殖栽培管理和盆景的剪扎、制作,同时进行了一定面积的池杉和稻麦间作的科学实验,为园林、绿化事业的发展输送了一批有文化、肯吃苦、懂技术的人才。他们的办学经验受到了各方面的重视和肯定,《人民日报》、《人民画报》、《新华日报》、《人民教育》、《江苏教育》等报刊先后作了报道。全国相继有18个省、市数百个教育代表团来该校视察、参观,1988年经过复查验收,被江苏省教委批准为省属重点农职业中学,学校正式定名为“邗江县农业职业技术学校”。

The development of the gardening and greening industry has sent a group of talented people who are arduous, hard-working, and technically astute. Their schooling experience has been valued and affirmed by various parties. Newspapers and periodicals such as People’s Daily, People’s Pictorial, Xinhua Daily, People’s Education, and Jiangsu Education have been reported successively. Hundreds of educational delegations from 18 provinces and cities have visited the university in succession. They were reviewed and accepted in 1988. They were approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Education Commission as the provincial key agricultural vocational middle school. The school was formally named “Rongjiang County Agricultural Vocational Technology. SCHOOL".
