在现代英语中,一词多类,一词多义的现象比较普遍,一词多义是指同一个词在同一个词类中,往往具有几种不同的意义.因此,词义选择在英汉翻译过程中是一个非常重要的问题.翻译工作离不开理解与表达,理解是先决条件,表达建基于理解之上.有人会说:“词义有何难,查查词典不就行了吗?”事实并非完全如此,在翻译中,我们要善于在许多不同的词义中选出最确切的词义,这是正确理解原文,确切忠实地用译文加以表达的一个基本环节.
In modern English, there are many kinds of words and the meaning of polysemous words is more common. The meaning of polysemy means that the same word has several different meanings in the same part of speech class. Therefore, Is a very important issue.Translation work can not be separated from understanding and expression, understanding is a prerequisite, expression based on understanding.Some people will say: “What is the meaning of words, check the dictionary is not on the line?” This is exactly the case. In translating, we must be good at choosing the most precise meanings in many different meanings. This is an essential part of correctly understanding the original texts and accurately and faithfully using the translations.
