This article reports that the combination of two monoclonal antibodies for the detection of serum DF3 and CA125 antigens in patients with ovarian cancer can improve the sensitivity and specificity of a single assay to help ooze, duration of disease monitoring and differential diagnosis of ovarian cancer. The DF3 antigen is a human breast cancer differentiation antigen with a molecular weight of 300000. The antibody that recognizes this antigen is a mouse monoclonal antibody DF3 prepared by using the cell membrane extract of the liver metastasis of the human glandular adenocarcinoma as an immunogen. The CA125 antigen is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of more than 50,000 and the corresponding antibody is the murine monoclonal antibody McAb, OC125, which is made using the human ovarian cancer cell line as an immunogen.
