钨Tungsten是一种金属,对于吾们似乎是很生疏的。大约除掉若干有电灯设备的都市地方,一部份人知道所谓钨丝电灯里面,装的是钨丝之外,恐怕大多数人都不知道钨是一种什么东西。说来是很惭愧的,吾们对于钨虽然不大清楚,可是吾国是产钨国家,而且钨的产量在世界各国中佔到第一位,却是世界闻名的。因为钨不但是制造高速钢和其他钨合金的重要原料,而且近年来钨在工业上也有许多重要的用途。所以这种金属變成国防和工业上的重要资源,而为各国政府所重视。所可惜者,吾国对于鍊钢及其他冶金工业向来缺少建设,以致吾们虽擁有钨的资源可是祇产钨砂,而不会煉钨,正如其他重要的物产一样,只好眼看供别人利用,政府也僅僅藉此为换取外滙的商品。因
