文化语言学从文化视角审视语言,既阐释语言作为最基本的文化现象之一所具有的文化内涵和意义,也揭示文化系统整体对语言的形态、功能及其演化的作用。无论从哪个角度去看,语言都是一种文化的全息载体;这决不只是因为语言作为记述“符号”以其语义全面地表达着人类生活各方面的信息,而且还指各种文化信息在语言形态和功能上的投射与凝聚。语言有如一面特殊的透境,通过它,人的文化生存状态得到最生动也最深入的写照和表现。
Cultural linguistics examines language from the perspective of culture. It not only expounds the cultural connotation and significance of language as one of the most basic cultural phenomena, but also reveals the function of the whole cultural system as a whole on the form, function and evolution of language.
