本刊选载的这三篇有关地球静电自动驾驶仪的译文,从不同角度说明了一种新的飞机飞行姿态测量原理,其名虽为“地球静电自动驾驶仪”,实则是利用地球静电电场的垂直电位差来反应飞机飞行姿态的一种传感器。其重量轻、体积小,成本低,技术上也不很复杂。其中比较关键的元件器材是放射性同位素钋(84Po~(210))国内有生产,而且能供应。钋的放射性物质是α粒子,只需一层普通的纸即可隔断,对人体不会有损害。所用其他仪器设备也都是普通的。按目前了解到的水平,对飞行高度不很大的小型遥控飞机特别适合。在美国Ford公司的Ford praeire 11B小型反坦克遥控飞机上已经成功地应用(见简氏飞机年鉴1977~1978年期665页)。著者在文章中提到的几种应用可能,如飞行平台、地形跟踪等,从发展的眼光来看是有一定道理的。遗憾的是我们限于时间还没有查到更多的这种原理在近期应用上的发展情况。
