东浦是浙江省历史文化名镇,它位于绍兴市区西郊7.5公里处。这里土地肥沃,物产丰富,河流纵横,风光秀丽,素有水乡、桥乡、酒乡之称。早在宋代,东浦已是绍兴酿酒业的中心。从晋朝江统《酒诰》所云到梅里尖山陶罐、陶鼎、陶壶等的出土,从壶觞地名的由来到东晋末南朝初王城寺的建成……,大量的人文典故、历史音韵,珍品遗物,以及现在照样传承在人们思想及行为中的古老而又流行的技艺及文化,都足以证明东浦酿酒业已有2000多年的历史。古镇河泽交错,以桥为连,故桥自然成就了风景,古镇老街新桥上的“浦北中心为酒国,桥西出口是鹅池”对联很有特色,开门见山地点破了东浦的特产是酒。事实也是如此,从古至今东浦镇处处都留有浓厚的酒乡气息。籍以证明的活文物极多,简直是比比皆是,如镇内老街,就是一条很有历史和特色的街道。
