26岁的共产党员李云,原在庄浪县百货公司当库房保管员。市场的疲软,企业效益的下滑,促使他于1994年3月向公司报名下岗。经过两个月的反复思考和细致调查,他决定办一家既能挣钱,又能服务社会的酒店。为了创办酒店,他克服一个又一个困难,并动员在县五金公司工作的妻子下岗参与酒店的创办和经营。1995年5月,庄浪县第一家由下岗职工兴办的“金龙大酒店”在噼哩啪啦的鞭炮声中正式开业了。
Li Yun, a 26-year-old party member, was a treasurer in Zhuanglang County department store. The weakness of the market and the declining efficiency of enterprises prompted him to register for the company in March 1994. After two months of repeated thought and careful investigation, he decided to run a hotel that can make money and serve the community. In order to set up a hotel, he overcame one difficulty after another and mobilized his wife, who worked in County Hardware Company, to take part in the establishment and operation of the hotel. In May 1995, Zhuanglang County, the first laid-off workers to set up “Golden Dragon Hotel ” in the crackling sound of firecrackers was officially opened.
