鄂东门户黄梅县,版图面积1701平方公里,辖16个乡镇,人口98万。既是中国禅宗发祥地、黄梅戏发源地、红十五军诞生地、龙感湖湿地保护区所在地,又是全国楹联之乡、诗词之乡、武术之乡、挑花之乡。2011年,地区生产总值108.5亿元,财政收入10.56亿元,社会消费品零售总额62亿元,全社会固定资产投资77亿元,城镇居民可支配收入14268元,农民人均纯收入6331元,各项指标与2006年相比均实现了翻番,三次产业结构由2006年41∶30∶29调整为34∶36∶30。
