Cold food is a long-established ancient folk custom in China. Before the Warring States period, there existed the highest level of the Tang Dynasty and gradually declined after the Song Dynasty. Qiu Xiu-gui, a professor of Chinese at Peking University, published a book titled “Cold Food and Changing Fire” in the second issue of “Chinese Culture”. He made a detailed historical survey of the cold food written in honor of the minister Chen Jinwen of the burned-out state.
