In a region of poor terrestrial seismic data, we performed reservoir characterization using tomographic and reflected wave imaging during interwell travel. Tomographic images and reflected wave images have been used effectively to describe fractured reservoirs. The velocity tomographic images show that: (1) The vertical resolution is sufficient to identify and characterize lithologic units of a brittle rock formation 50 ft (15 m) thick.
