吊脚楼曾经是重庆成为现代化大都市的最大障碍之一。现在,这个城市却因为吊脚楼迅速减少而开始考虑为其设立“保护区”。重庆的吊脚楼集中在市中心区的长江和嘉陵江两岸,是一种以木结构为主的民居,多以圆木为柱,竹席为墙,其高一般不超过两层,室内狭小昏暗。建造在坡地上的这种民居,为尽可能扩大空间,常有一部分空悬在外,仅靠木柱支撑,吊脚楼由此而得名。据介绍,在近年来的城市建设中,重庆
Diaojiaolou was once one of the biggest obstacles to Chongqing becoming a modern metropolis. Now, the city began to consider establishing “protected areas” for the rapid reduction of the Diaojiaolou. The Diaojiao Building in Chongqing is located on the banks of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River in the downtown area. It is a residential building dominated by wooden structures, mostly made up of logs and bamboo mats. Its height is generally no more than two and the interior is small and dark. Such dwellings built on sloping grounds are designed to expand space as much as possible, and often part of them are suspended from the ground. Only the wooden pillars support the dwellings. According to reports, in the recent urban construction, Chongqing
