Those years of the 1920s have witnessed the irreversible transmutation of American folk music. Pop music in cities is introduced into “folk” through media such as radio and record. At the same time, country music, whether white or black, was “discovered” by industrialists in some cities. People not only broadcast these music on the radio, but they also found that they would be economically profitable if they were dubbed as records and sold back to the country. Both black Bruce and white mountain music were recorded in the 1920s and have had far-reaching effects on both folk music. Please note that it is very interesting to note that the record integration of the most important public offering of our folk music, Folklore Ethnomusicology, includes all the commercial recordings of the 1920s and 1930s.
