从1953到1978年实行社会主义计划经济体制期间，我国发行了第二、三套人民币。这两套人民币纸币的共同特点是面额种类少，面额小，发行量小，流通时间长；1979年实行社会主义市场经济体制以后，我国发行了第四、第五套人民币和纪念钞。
During the period of implementing the socialist planned economic system from 1953 to 1978, China issued the second and third renminbi. The common denominator of these two sets of RMB notes is their small denomination, small denomination, small circulation and long circulation time.
