Titanium silicalite-1 (TS-1) belongs to MFI structure group, and it was successfully synthesized in 1983[1]. Since then it has been demonstrated that TS-1 has remarkably shape-selective and catalytic performance in series of selective oxidation such as hydroxylation of phenol[2], oxygenation of alkanes[3], epoxidation of propylene[4], ammoximation of cyclohexanone[5] and so on. The catalytic performance has greatly extended applications of the zeolite in the fields from acid catalysis to selective oxidation. Using the conventional hydrothermal crystallization method, it was very difficult to avoid precipitation of anatase TiO2, being regarded as no catalytic activity, in hydrolysis of tetraethyl orthotitanate (TEOT). Moreover, the crystallization lasted for 10 d. Thangaraj et al[6] changed TEOT to tetrabutyl orthotitanate (TBOT), and added it to isopropyl alcohol (IPA) in order to make the two hydrolysis processes be well matched with each other.rn
