湿地是指水位经常存在或接近地表或为浅水所覆盖的土地,并以水成土和土壤水分饱和为其主要特征。湿地处于水生系统与陆地系统之间的过渡带。湿地具有丰富的生物多样性和很高的自然生产力。植被是湿地的重要标志。沼泽是湿地的主要类型。
Wetland refers to the land where the water level is often present or close to the surface or covered by shallow water. It is mainly characterized by saturated soil and saturated soil moisture. Wetlands are in the transition zone between aquatic systems and terrestrial systems. Wetlands are rich in biodiversity and high in natural productivity. Vegetation is an important symbol of wetlands.
