九月二十六日,电视连续剧《北京人在纽约》开始播放。基本上是一片叫好声。我也认为这是一部十多年难得看到的佳品。我这个人看电视剧,非常容易被剧情拉进去,沉醉其中难得出来。但一旦跳出来回味一番,终不免要提几个问题,大概是陋习难改。如今写出来,供大家研究,目的当然是为我们的电视艺术更一上层楼。首先使我别扭的是姜文扮演的王起明这个人物形象。片名的既括性很强,叫做“北京人”在“纽约”。这里的“北京人”指的应当是一个带有象征性的和北京品格的代表人物。然而,我看到屏幕上姜文演的王起明总和我心目中的王起明合不到一块。我倒没有以一个北京人的典型来测量他,认为他既是“北京人”,就应当把北京人所有的优点都堆上去,成为一个到纽约去的雷锋,那可能会变成一出大喜剧。但照剧本规定,王起明是北京某乐团的大提琴手,是一位音乐演奏家。他借着要子郭燕的海外关系去了美国。到美国去十什么?是要上学深造呢?还是去美国演奏呢?总不是想到美国去经商吧。估计王起明这个人物,在国内也许算不上一级
