前不久,一个从国外回来的同学给笔者讲这么一个故事:老外的数学都很差。有一次笔者同学给工程师尼克做翻译,翻好了之后,发现他连“10.5-0.3=?”这样的算术都要拿计算器来算。笔者同学觉得太荒谬了,当场给他表演列算式开根号,尼克看得目瞪口呆。笔者同学倒是困惑了,咱们中国的小朋友,奥数要拿优才能考上好中学,他数学这么差,怎么当上工程师的?
