文艺创作应当如生活本身那样多彩多姿,决不能搞“标准化”、“一体化”,决不能禁锢在一个固定的模式里边。但是,形式的丰富多样,应当与思想内容的深刻性融为一体,努力达到思想与艺术的有机结合,完美一致。如果只求形式的变化,不求思想的深度,只管形式的完美,不管内容的健康,那么,就有可能走向形式主义、唯美主义的道路。确实,这些年来,有些作品在处理形式与内容的关系方面常常存在着这样或那样
Literary and artistic creation should be as colorful as life itself, and we must never engage in “standardization” or “integration.” We must not imprison ourselves in a fixed pattern. However, the rich and varied forms should be integrated with the profoundness of ideological content so as to achieve the perfect combination of thought and art. If only the change of form, the depth of thought, the perfection of form, and the health of the content are not sought, then it is possible to move toward the path of formalism and aestheticism.
