The United Nations and its partners in Sudan are providing emergency support to people affected by flooding since the beginning of August.
According to Government estimates, as many as 530,000 people have been affected by the floods and at least 74,000 houses have been damaged or destroyed.
Emergency supports like water sanitation, health items and food are provided by Non-governmental organizations, together with Sudan government and the UN Agencies.
In a news release, UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs stated over 52,000 people have received household items, and water trucks being run by the Khartoum State Water Corporation and the Médecins Sans Frontières are reaching about 110,000 people each day.
