The negative correlation between plasma HDL-C levels and the risk of coronary heart disease has an extremely important clinical significance. People with high HDL-ch levels have a low risk of coronary heart disease. Many factors are known to affect HDL-ch levels, such as inheritance, obesity, alcohol consumption, smoking, exercise and eating habits. In addition, many drugs also affect the metabolism of HDL-ch through various mechanisms. as follows. Lipid-lowering drugs and HDL-ch Unlike previous concepts, the primary goal of treating hyperlipidemia in recent years has been to increase plasma levels of HDL-ch, a common lipid-lowering drug that may have these effects.
