佛子岭连拱坝已运行40多年,由于坝体杆件单薄,坝基地质条件较复杂,坝体出现较多裂缝。虽经二次加固,但旧裂缝仍在扩展并有新裂缝产生,尤其在1993年11月下旬,河床坝垛的水平位移超过历史最大值。为此,电力工业部提出对佛子岭大坝进行特种检查。通过对佛子岭大坝的观测资料全面分析,弄清了1993年11月下旬出现“异常”变形的物理成因,并由此引出该坝稳定、变形和强度(即裂缝)的不利荷载工况,提出了运行控制水位。
