1984～1988年4年,时间不长,但档案保护技术的研究与学术活动情况是令人鼓舞的。据建国以来不完全统计,在省以上各种刊物上发表的关于档案保护的文章共有617篇,其中报道性的短文91篇,带有论述性的文章526篇。在此期间还出版著作4本,译著1本,参考书2本;召开省以上的有关档案保护座谈会、研讨会、协作会10次以上,其中,档案保护技术委员会组织召开过两次档案保护技术研讨会。1984～1987年期间经过鉴定的研究成果共有13项:香叶醇徐放抗霉剂、温湿度自动控制仪、耐久书写纸、二乙基锌气相去酸、浸涂全敷式影片保护膜及其涂布装置、档案库房的温湿度与档案纸张的耐久性、档案库房温湿度微机自动检测、控制系统、档案馆建筑规范、低温杀虫、甲基碳酸镁去酸法、蓝墨水字迹恢复剂、
