《易经》说:“形而上者谓之道,形而下者谓之器。”道就是精神,器就是物质,两者必须平衡。人类几千年来都被这两者撕扯着,也一直在做平衡的努力。在很长的一段时间中,中国曾经是一个泛道德主义的国家,人们的社会生活,处处被绑架上了道德法庭,接受道德的拷问,乃至于忽略或者践踏正常人性,“道德杀人”曾经也是比较普遍的现象。现在,我们已经走过了这个阶段,这无疑是巨大的进步,但我们需要防止走向另一个极端,那就是陷入物质主义的糟粕中,导致道德上的虚无、扭曲与异化。经济基础决定上层建筑,当今物欲纵流的社会现状为社会的滑坡做了铺垫。但从实践上看社会发展的必然的趋势应是文化软实力或者说是道德优先者生存的时代。
