新都区位于成都平原腹心地带,是四川省省会成都市的城北副中心,北与德阳广汉市、成都青白江区毗邻,西与成都彭州市、郫县接壤,东、南与成都市金牛区、成华区、龙泉驿区相连。全境地貌形态以土壤肥沃的平坝为主,部分为龙泉山脉边缘延绵起伏的丘陵。新都为古蜀国三大名都之一,素有“天府明珠”、“香城宝地”之美誉,东晋常璩《华阳国志》卷三《蜀志》载:“蜀以成都、广都、新都为三都,号名城。”~([1])秦汉时,于此置新都县,魏晋南北朝因之。隋开皇十八年(598年)改兴乐县,大业元年
