本文简要的介绍了约翰·波特曼的生平及作品。当前世界各国旅馆相效仿波特曼的三大法宝(共享空间、玻璃电梯、旋转餐厅),特别是“共享空间”已扩大延伸至购物中心、贸易中心、医院等各类建筑中去。波特曼为什么能取得成功,除了他有设计事务所、并兼营地产生意有利条件外,更重要是他的内因,本文着重分析波特曼的设计哲理、丰富的想象力等四个问题,这些问题对我省建筑理论、建筑设计有一定启示。
This article briefly introduces John Portman’s life and works. The hotels around the world now emulate Portman’s three magic methods (shared space, glass elevators, revolving restaurants), and in particular the “shared space” has expanded to include shopping centers, trade centers, and hospitals. Why Portman can succeed, besides the fact that he has a design office and concurrently manages favorable conditions for real estate business, it is more important for his internal cause. This article focuses on analyzing Portman’s design philosophy and rich imagination. These issues have certain implications for the architectural theory and architectural design of our province.
