植物育种工作的进展在很大程度上取决于对种质资源的有效利用。我国丰富的大麦品种资源曾经和正在为大麦育种工作发挥重要作用。然而种内的遗传变异毕竟有限,有时为实现某一育种目标所需要的基因资源在种内已不敷应用,育种家们就自然要考虑到如何从亲缘种属中去挖掘和转移这些基因。基因工程和原生质体融合等生物技术的兴起固然为基因在不同生物类型间的转移。开辟了新的可能途径,然而这一技术在高等植物,尤其是禾谷类作物中
The progress of plant breeding depends very much on the efficient use of germplasm. China’s abundant barley variety resources have been and are being played an important role in barley breeding. However, the intraspecific genetic variation is limited, and sometimes the genetic resources needed to achieve a breeding goal have not been applied within the species. Breeders naturally have to consider how to dig and transfer these genes from their relatives. The rise of biotechnologies such as genetic engineering and protoplast fusion is certainly a transfer of genes between different biological types. Opens up new possibilities, however, this technique is used in higher plants, especially cereal crops
