本文首先简要概述了韩礼德的系统功能语言学中主位—述位理论及六种主位推进模式,然后通过对大学英语课文中一段例文的主位推进分析得出以下教学启示:将主位—述位理论应用于大学英语阅读教学是可行的,主位推进模式有助于读者识别语篇的体裁及构建方式从而使其通过把握作者思路流程进行有效阅读。主位推进分析不仅有助于提高学生的阅读水平而且有助于实施基于语篇的语言教学方法、提高学生的语言交际能力。
This article first briefly outlines Halliday’s thematic-rheme theory and the six thematic progression modes in Systemic-Functional Linguistics, and then draws the following teaching enlightenment through the analysis of the thematic progression in a college English text: Rheme theory is applicable to college English reading teaching. The thematic progression mode helps readers to identify the genre of discourse and how to construct it so that it can be effectively read by grasping the author’s thinking process. Thematic progression analysis not only helps improve students ’reading proficiency but also helps to implement discourse-based language teaching methods to improve students’ language communication skills.
