Carotid artery hypoplasia is a rare congenital disease that is sometimes difficult to distinguish from acquired vascular lesions such as arterial dissection or vasculitis caused by vascular stenosis. Due to the development of internal carotid artery often accompanied by poor development of carotid artery, so measuring the size of the carotid artery can be used as a diagnosis of poor indications of carotid artery dysplasia. The purpose of this study was to determine if a skull base CT scan is a reliable method of diagnosing carotid vascular dysplasia.
