第七届远南运动会于1999年1月16日在泰国曼谷法政大学田径场落下帷幕。本届运动会是本世纪内举办的最后一届洲际性国际残疾人体育盛会。来自34个国家和地区的1712名运动员在15个大项、460个小项中展开了激烈的竞争。我国派出的195名运动员分别来自27个省、自治区、直辖市,都是业余选手。在本届运动会上,中国运动员在12个大项、299个小项中,共夺得金牌205枚、银牌90枚、铜牌45枚;14人22次打破18项世界纪录,金牌数和奖牌数均高居各参赛队之首。实现了参赛成绩和精神文明双丰收的奋斗目标。
The Far South Games of the Seventh came to an end on January 16, 1999 at the athletics center of Hosei University in Bangkok, Thailand. This Games is held this century, the last intercontinental international disabled sports event. 1712 athletes from 34 countries and regions competed fiercely in 15 large and 460 small projects. The 195 athletes dispatched from China come from 27 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, all of whom are amateurs. At this Games, Chinese athletes won a total of 205 gold medals, 90 silver medals and 45 bronze medals in 12 large items and 299 small ones; 14 of them broke 18 world records, 22 gold medals and medals Are highest in the first of each team.
