林产工业是国民经济的重要组成部分,它肩负着为国家建设和人民生活提供木材及多种林产品的重任。林产工业技术水平的高低,代表着一个国家,一个地区整个林业生产的水平,因此,实现林产工业技术进步是发展林业,保护森林,充分合理利用森林资源,发展林业商品经济的一项重要措施。技术进步工作包括许多环节,一般来说,就是以产品为龙头,以工艺为基础,把技术攻关、新产品试制、新工艺采用、国外新技术的引进和消化、国内新技术的推广与转移、企业的技术改造、技术引进和新产品的批量投产,以及标准、计最、情报等各个环节。其中技术改造、技术引进是实现技术进步的重要途径。
