Downell is currently involved in the development of the third generation of air-to-air missiles for the next generation of fighter jets. This development is known as Sniper and the new missile will have the following basic design and performance features: - Omni-directional attack capability for any flying target; - Minimum launch distance depends only on what the launch aircraft needs ; - stored and maintained as normally verified missiles; - in pitch and heading by liquid fuel engines with four combustion chambers equipped with stationary nozzles for thrust vector control
