英美文学课是我国高校英语专业的必修课,其课程教学目标在于培养学生阅读、理解、欣赏英语原著的能力,帮助学生掌握文学批评的基本方法和知识,增强学生对西方文学和文化的了解,进而使学生构建英美文学知识结构,提升自身人文素养。然而,受多种因素的影响,英语本科英美文学类课程日渐边缘化,导致学生的学习兴趣不高,教师的教学效果欠佳,难以实现英美文学类课程教学目标。基于此点,本文对英语本科英美文学类课程教学现状和改进对策进行分析。
The English and American literature class is a compulsory course for English majors in colleges and universities in China. Its teaching aims at cultivating students’ abilities to read, understand and appreciate English original texts, help them master the basic methods and knowledge of literary criticism, enhance their understanding of Western literature and culture, So as to enable students to build the knowledge structure of Anglo-American literature and enhance their own humanistic accomplishments. However, under the influence of many factors, English and American literary courses are getting more and more marginalized, which leads to students ’low interest in learning and teachers’ poor teaching effects. Therefore, it is difficult to achieve the goal of English and American literary courses. Based on this point, this article analyzes the status quo and improvement strategies of English and American literature courses in English majors.
